Wednesday, March 20, 2019
A new two-year degree at Columbus State Community College aims to have more students “reaching for the cloud.”
The new associate of applied science degree in software development will offer a path to employment in cloud computing, the college said.
The program will be developed in partnership with Northern Virginia Community College and Amazon Web Services Educate, the academic arm of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for information technology and cloud education resources. Columbus State has been awarded a nearly $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to create the curriculum.
The program will be designed to coordinate with AWS certification exams and other credentials in the IT industry.
